It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Ann Holt announce her passing on June 22, 2025 at the age of 80.
Ruth was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life touched many in both big and small ways. She had a warm heart, a generous spirit, and a quiet wisdom that made others feel seen and cared for. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or simply her presence, she made the world a little brighter for those around her.
Ruth devoted her life to education, spending years in the classroom where she inspired students with her passion, patience, and belief in the power of learning. She was more than a teacher. She was a mentor, a listener, and a steady presence in the lives of those she taught.
Ruth will be deeply missed by her loving husband James; sons Peter and Erick; daughters Jennifer and Rita; grandsons James, Beckham, Buer, Elijah, Isaac, and Ethan; and granddaughters Evangeline and Brooklyn.
Though she may be gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Lighthouse Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Friday, July 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
Judy Dunn:
I am so sadden to hear of Ruth's passing. She was a kind and loving person and I admired her so much. It was hard to see her and her husband Jim leave our little community....Watson Lake. She will be missed by so many! Love you Ruth!
Terry and Ruth Wilkinson :
There are so many stories about Ruth and the things I appreciate about her was her gift of hospitality and her sense of humour!! We will not be able to make the service as we are “doing” camp. Her writing is on many of the items here. Our condolences to the family and especially Jim!! We love you!! Praying for all of you as you walk through this valley of death!
Dave and Alison Rainey:
We have only gotten to know Jim and Ruth since they moved to Sylvan Lake. We have enjoyed their fellowship at our church. Ruth was an amazing person. Even though she suffered physically, she never complained and always had a positive attitude. She took an active part in our study group on Sunday nights. Her friendliness to everyone and sense of humour will be missed by all of us. Rest in peace until we meet again. ❤️
