Geoffrey Murray Brooks
October 1, 1969 – April 2, 2026
“Geoff” passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Red Deer Hospice Society, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Geoff was born in Richmond Township, Ontario on October 1, 1969, to George Murray Brooks and the late Theresa Lorraine Brooks.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tammy Brooks (nee Warren) and daughter Cadence Brooks. He is preceded in death by his son Geoffrey “Ryder” Brooks. He is also survived by his father Murray, sisters Lisa (Steve), Cynthia (Greg), sister-in-law Laurie (late Bob), brother-in-law Robert “Bobby” (Mary). His memory will be cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He will be missed beyond measure by countless family, friends and all whose lives he touched.
He took great pride in his family and cherished his time working with his dad, becoming a scout leader with his kids and building lifelong friendships with his Rover Family where he was affectionately called “Rover Daddy”. Geoff was a fishing enthusiast who tried to go fishing with his buddy as much as he could. They always practiced "catch and release" and returned home with lots of big stories to tell.
Geoff had recently retired from his successful family-run business Tinman Furnace and AC Experts where he served customers in the greater Calgary area and often worked side by side not only with his wife, but also with his Dad. The Tinman motto was “we do everything with heart”, and Geoff and Tammy had the motto “we got this” which embodied how Geoff approached life. As part of their retirement, Geoff and Tammy moved to their acreage in Clearwater County Alberta to embrace the peace of rural life. As an avid Lego fan, Geoff created a Lego room to display all his Star Wars Lego sets. Shortly before his passing, he was able to assemble and display his Millenium Falcon set he got for his 25th wedding anniversary. His days were spent doing renovations, planning his retirement hobbies and he had dreams of raising chickens and bees.
