Obituary

Rachel Gunderson, 93, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the Bethany Centre in Sylvan Lake.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Gunderson. They built their life together in Sylvan Lake, where Rachel cared for her home and family, with the kitchen at its center.

Rachel worked for thirty years at The Lodge in Sylvan Lake. In later years, she became a resident of the Bethany Centre, where she remained until her passing.

She enjoyed gardening, playing cards at the kitchen table, baking bread, and sharing coffee.
Rachel is survived by her children and their families.

No formal services will be held.

AUNTY RACHEL WAS ONE HELL OF A WOMAN. GROWING UP IN SYLVAN LAKE WAS GREAT BECAUSE
AUNTY LIVED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL, AND MY FAMILY LIVED AT THE TOP. I COULD VISIT ANY TIME I WANTED. SHE SHOWED ME HOW SHE MADE HER OWN PASTA. IT WAS SO GOOD. I WILL MISS YOU ALWAYS.

We will miss Auntie terribly, She was such a special person and a wonderful Aunt. I was happy to have been able to visit a couple times with Susie . We loved her dearly.
