Obituary

Clifford “Cliff” Hendrie
November 14, 1970 – July 21, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Cliff Hendrie announce his sudden passing on July 21, 2025, at the age of 54.

Cliff was a father, son, brother, friend, and stepfather, affectionately known as “Dopey” to young Lochlan MacNeil, and to many others, a steady presence and strong influence. He worked for decades as a welder, and a heavy duty mechanic, known for his craftsmanship, pride in his work, and refusal to cut corners.

A true old-school original, Cliff valued honesty, loyalty, and a job done right. He was sharp-witted, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak his mind. Those who knew him best understood the care behind his words and the quiet way he showed up for those he loved.

Cliff spent his time doing what he enjoyed: riding motorcycles, hunting, golfing, restoring vehicles, and being outdoors. He lived simply, worked hard, and didn’t ask for much, but he earned respect everywhere he went.

He is survived by his mother and father, sister, son, stepchildren, and extended family and friends.

Condolences

David W Anderson:

Ahh, Clifford.
40 something years of solid friendship….growing feathers…. Running hard…. Growing up….. Its just not enough time. We’ve all been robbed way too soon.
I love you too Man, Dave….

Pat Staniforth-Smith and family:

With my sincere condolences to Cliff's family.
Cliff became part of our farm family during the many years he spent working with us. Cam and Shane enjoyed the time they spent together as much as Cliff enjoyed working and hanging out with them. Cliff was also a welcome addition to our family for the two years he and Kelty have been together. He will be sorely missed by Kelty and her parents (me) and her brothers and their families. Many a night the boys gathered around at the shop after work for story telling and a beer.
We miss you Cliff.

Al Massey :

Cliff was my friend for almost 40 years. I was fortunate enough to work along side with him on multiple vehicle projects with me teaching some mechanic skills and he teaching me some welding skills and techniques as he was an excellent welder and fabricator. We camped in may for nearly 40 years and shared a few beers and many a laugh. I loved him like a brother and he will be dearly missed.
RIP buddy.
