Obituary

It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we announce the passing of Debra "Debby" Florence Thyer of Sylvan Lake, Alberta on May 26, 2025 at the age of 61 years. She faced cancer with a courageous spirit on two separate occasions. Cancer may have taken her life but it can never break the bond of love that we have for her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Brian, their son, Mike (Justine), their daughter Samantha (Kevin), and grandchildren, Maverick, Rozalyn, Ezra, Kaidan, and Genevieve. She will also be sadly missed by many extended family members, friends, and her pets. Debby had a generous heart, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother/nana. She loved animals, particularly dogs, and adopted many over the years.

A memorial for Debby will be held on June 5th, 2025 at the Alliance Community Church in Sylvan Lake, Alberta from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Debby's memory to Red Deer Hospice, or any charity that benefits animals.

The family would like to thank Dr. Muzammal, the nurses at Rimbey Hospital, and the staff at Red Deer Hospice for the wonderful care Debby received in her final days.

My condolences I remember meeting you guys when you first moved to Sylvan. Brian you were at Delta and I remember Debbie working at Ritz Drugs. Debbie always had a smile.
