Obituary

It is with heavy heart that we must inform you of the passing of our wonderful father Roland on May 23, 2025, at Red Deer, Alberta, Ville Marie Covenant Nursing home.

Dad was born in D'amour, Saskatchewan on Feb 18, 1934, into a family of 10, to parents Marie and Eugene Lagoutte of Ris, France.

Dad was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Stella Alice (nee Lucier) on August 6, 2024. He is survived by a son, Larry (Brenda Andrews) and daughter, Susan (William Tkachuk); sister Jeannie (Alex Budan); five grandchildren, Shawn (Nicky Penner), Geoffrey (Deirdre Maclean), Megan (Adam Tomalty), Justin (Jennifer Crisler), Jennifer Christie Forbes; 13 great-grandchildren, Miles Jenna, Breckyn, Bailey, Abigail, Ostin, Liam, Presley, Hunter, Arron, Aquinnah, Ethan, Mason; and one great-great-grandchild, Hallie Jean.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers Camille and Hubert (Margret Lucier), sisters Andrea (Paul Bourassa), Gabriel (Paul Robin), Paulette (John Straff), Jacquline (Frank Mezzo), and Martha (Ervine Zigeman).

Service: Monday, June 16, 1pm at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church Internment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Dad's life at the Sylvan Lake Wellness and Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Red Deer Hospice at reddeerhospice.com where Dad spent his final months under watchful and compassionate care.
