Cindy Lona MacFayden

Dec 9, 1968 - Dec 24, 2024

Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Cindy Lona MacFayden on December 24, 2024, in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 56. Cindy was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandma, dedicated friend, and a hardworking woman whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Blessed with a deep love of animals, particularly horses, Cindy spent some time as the manager of the stables on a horse ranch. It was here that she dedicated much of her time and energy to caring for, training, and nurturing horses. Cindy also spent some time with Action Animals, where animals are trained to be in film, commercials, music videos and more. Her love for animals carried on with her throughout her entire life, demonstrating Cindy’s caring spirit and loyal nature. Cindy also worked in janitorial and later was a certified nail technician.

Cindy was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia. In 2008, she moved to Whistler, British Columbia. It was here, and through work, that she met the love of her life, Hamish. The two formed a close friendship that blossomed into a beautiful love. In 2016, they were married with their closest loved ones by their side and a breathtaking ceremony. Their partnership was one of mutual respect, laughter, and shared dreams. Many people search their entire lives to find the kind of love that Hamish and Cindy shared, and few are lucky enough to experience it. Cindy passed knowing she was undeniably loved in a successful marriage, and that meant everything to her.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband Hamish; son Jody; daughter Chantalle; three stepdaughters; half-sister Tabatha; half-brother Curt; stepfather Dan; and 17.5 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her mom and dad, as well as her oldest son Cody.

There will never be another Cindy. Her spirit, her love, and her incredible ability to bring light to the world will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. She will forever be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.

In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Cindy can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities on their website.
