Obituary

John William Rantala went to his eternal home on August 9, 2023 at the age of 72.
Born October 7, 1950 in Red Deer, Alberta, he was the first born and only son of Erik and Aileen (Hilman) Rantala.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Denise; his only sibling, Mary; her children and grandchildren. John will also be remembered by Denise's siblings; Betty (Lyle), Leland (Patricia), Riika; Ida and their children and grandchildren, plus, a multitude of Hilman cousins.

The Memorial Service for John will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Sylvan Lake Alliance Church.

Donations in John's name to The Lending Cupboard in Red Deer; Palliative Care at Red Deer Hospital or the Red Deer Hospice.

Cousin Denise and all who loved John
We share in your grief yet are thankful John is now with the Lord and reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
We know we join many in lifting you up in prayer, asking God to comfort you through His Spirit and through each other.
John will be missed by many. Though we didn't get to spend a lot of time together, David and I have good memories of the times we did have.
