Private family service.
With great sadness the family of Ronn Bart Stiles announces his sudden passing on September 3, 2023, in Bentley, Alberta at 61 years of age due to a cardiac event.
Ronn Bart Stiles was born September 19, 1961, to Ralph and Eileen [Wempe] Stiles in Pembrooke, Ontario. He was the second of four children. Ronn grew up in Alberta and Clinton Creek, Yukon. He worked a variety of jobs around Alberta and British Columbia.
In June of 1986 Ronn married the love of his life, Wendy Colleen Lawrence in Calgary, Alberta. Together, they lived in Castlegar, British Columbia, Hinton, Munson and Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Ronn and Wendy had a passion for those with special needs as well as children. Although they never had children of their own, they ran a day home where both were loved deeply by those they cared for. Ronn and Wendy were known in Sylvan Lake for their deep-rooted willingness to help those in need. However, after Wendy’s sudden passing Ronn continued to live in and around Sylvan Lake, Red Deer, finally settling in Bentley, Alberta. Ronn had a creative and curious side to him which was apparent if you knew him. He loved “Rock Hounding” finding fossils and unique stones and minerals. He also was able to carve a variety of things from both stone and wood, which he shared with those he loved. For Ronn, dogs were an important part of his later life, and he would care for any dogs he encountered through roommates and friends.
Ronn was predeceased by his father Ralph Chalner (Jack) Stiles (April 1989), his wife Wendy (May 2007). He is survived by his mother Eileen Rose, his eldest brother Morgan (Julia), younger brother Lance (Carolyn) and younger sister, Stacy Wetzel. He was an uncle to Nik, Nathniel (Jessica), Zach (Katy), Jaydon Stiles as well as Great Uncle to Nathaniel’s three daughters and two sons and to Zach’s son.
There will be a private memorial for family. If you would like to honour Ronn’s memory, please donate to your local mental health agency.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
