Burnt Lake Cemetery

Ronald Phillip Ragnar Mannerfeldt (February 15, 1960 – November 15, 2020) lived his life fully from his birth in Eckville to his passing on the family farm southwest of Sylvan Lake where he spent his childhood and teenage years. He attended High School at both Cody High School in Sylvan Lake and Lindsay Thurber High School in Red Deer. It was during a High School work term that he was introduced to the vocation of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and this became his life work. He spent years travelling around the globe maintaining aircraft and keeping the crew safe for their flights.

He loved the outdoors and spent Alberta falls hunting wildlife and mostly enjoyed being in nature learning from the animals. He loved fishing in his fishpond and had created a refuge for relaxation as well as the center for entertaining his extended family and friends. He had honed his skills of inclusion and hospitality under the guidance of his mother.

He celebrated the achievements of his children Jessie and Tara Dolphin, Serena and Ericka Mannerfeldt and Juan David Mosquero. He was also a loving grandfather to Seth, Chase, Reno, Skye, Lochlin, Roseline and Juan Daniel.

He enjoyed family times on the farm with his siblings, Jaelene (Jim), Karen (Rob) and Jamie (Gaylene) and his nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his mother Edna in 2016 and his father, Ragnar, just 6 weeks ago.

His memories remain in the safe-keeping of his wife, Rosa Mannerfeldt, who showed him how to love deeply, support dreams and see joy in the simple things of life. Her encouragement and care were a gift.

Ron lived his life with a warm smile, kind heart and a big hug. His memories remain in our hearts forever.

A private graveside will be held at the Burnt Lake Cemetery.

So sad for this entire family.

Sad times indeed.
We've lost another.
I was unable to attend the service today but want to offer condolence to Rosa and the children, Jaelene, Karen, Jamie, their significant others, all their children along with Jessie and Tara.
I have many memories growing up spending time with Ron.
Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Snowmobiling, Off-Road Biking (they only had 2 wheels in those days), Skiing, reloading shells, just hanging out around the campfire, the list goes on...
When we are born into this world we bring with us only one thing, when we depart this world no matter how great our accomplishments are in life it is the only thing we can take with us and truly, it is the only thing that counts. It is the measure of a man's time spent here. Your Word.
Ron was good for his word, his handshake was firm, it was enough.
Ron was a man to ride the river with.
Now, we all have various ideas about life in the hereafter. I like the Happy Hunting Ground. As it actually is hunting season I suspect Ron and his old buddy Stu are likely pushing a Bush as I write this.

Rest in Peace, Ridgerunner.

Kelly Abbott:

I am very sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. My deepest condolences to all of Ron’s family.
