Paul William Hlady
August 23rd, 1959 – November 21st, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Paul William Hlady announces his passing. Paul passed away on Saturday November 21st 2020, after a brief battle with an aggressive form of head and neck cancer, at the age of 61.
Paul was born August 23rd,1959 in Swan River, Manitoba to Paul and Sonia Hlady.
Paul will be forever remembered by his loving mother Sonia Hlady, his daughter Bradee (Brent) Iverson, his son Logan Hlady, his grandchildren Quinn and Carter Iverson. Paul will also be lovingly remembered by countless extended family and dear friends. Paul was predeceased by his father Paul Hlady and his brother William “Billy” Hlady.
Paul was a man that had many passions and hobbies. He loved under water diving, was a very artistic man and also enjoyed cooking. After school Paul started an apprenticeship as a heavy-duty mechanic and then moved out to Alberta and started work in the oil patch as a mechanic. After a few years he returned to The Pas, Manitoba and found work at the correctional facility first as a guard and then later as a cook and started a Family. Paul always had a love of motorcycles, as many young men find though, Harleys aren’t three seaters. Paul made the decision to sell it, swearing that one day he would own another. With two children and a wife, Paul and his father started up a sawmill and logging company. Paul was a jack of all trades, him and his father even built the family home on Ralls island in The Pas. Paul decorated every elaborate birthday cake for his children and also painted a huge mural on the wall for his first child’s room.
In 2005 Paul moved to Brandon where he worked in construction and drove gravel truck. With the addition of grandchildren, he packed up and moved out to Red Deer in February 2020 to be closer to the family. Being true to his word he bought himself the Harley that he had sworn to have again. Logan and Paul enjoyed many rides together during the short riding season in Alberta.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Paul played drums in our band “Mr” in Swan River around 1975-76. He was a keener, and not only was he a great drummer he had a car. I was always jealous of him because he had the girls swooning over him.
I wish we had reconnected
