Joyce Maxine Job (Rocchio)
Dec 18, 1937 – Aug 22, 2024
The family of Joyce Job sadly announces her passing on Aug 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, John; her two daughters Janet Hall and Marena (Jim) Seifert; her five grandchildren, Chantel (Ryan) Nysten, David (Alexis) Comeau, Amanda Hall, Gordon Hall and Michael (Lisa) Hall; and her five great grandchildren; Maxine and Vivienne Nysten, and Bennett, Paisley, and Kennedy Hall. She is also survived by her sister Pat (Bob) White, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Born in Cadomin, Alberta, Joyce was the eldest daughter of Dominic and Martha Fay Rocchio. The family later relocated to Edmonton, where Joyce worked for AGT alongside her three sisters. In 1960, she married John, and together they moved to Medicine Hat for a short time before settling on the farm in Coronation. In 1999, they moved to Red Deer, and in 2002, they relocated to Sylvan Lake, where Joyce resided until her passing.
Joyce cherished her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for reading, travelling to Arizona during the winters and was also an avid Bingo player. She was predeceased by her son David in 1979, her son-in-law Brian Hall in 2013, her brother Wally Rocchio, and her sisters Hazel Lozinski and Delorse Schryver along with their spouses.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Staff on Unit 33 at Red Deer Regional Hospital and the Palliative Care staff at Lacombe Hospital for the excellent care Joyce received.
A Funeral Service to honour and remember Joyce will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Alliance Church, located at 4404 47th Ave., Sylvan Lake.
In lieu of other tributes, donations can be made to Lacombe Palliative Care Society, Box 5576 Lacombe, AB T4L 1X2, or the Charity of your choice.
Sandra, Jerome, Bonnie Job and families:
Thinking about all you today as you celebrate Auntie Joyce's life. We have many happy memories from the farm when we would come and visit. Auntie Joyce's meals and there were always treats, the weird tasting tang, delicious pancakes, playing games and cards, kick the can, cats and kittens.
We remember how she lovingly kept everyone organized and on task and most of all her smile! A little piece of Auntie Joyce will always be in our hearts.
Lots of Hugs!
Marion and Len Thompson :
