Reid, Wilfred (Wilf) Alexander

On Friday, November 27, 2020, Wilfred (Wilf) Alexander Reid passed away at the age of 77.

Wilf was born to Vera and Alex Reid in Red Deer on January 12, 1943.

Wilf is survived by his wife, Diane Reid, son Tony Reid (Ilsen), grandsons: Blake, Marco, and Ryan; great grandson Grayson and daughter Chris Sidorenko (Yul), granddaughters: Lexi and Tini; 4 brothers: Ron, George, Allan, Larry; 4 sisters: Laura, Barb, Janine, Carrie; numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Wilf was predeceased by his sister, Patsy, in 1967.

Wilf loved spending time on his acreage tinkering with his tractors, caring for numerous species of wild birds, testing his knowledge of word play completing crosswords and enjoying a cold one at ‘Beer O‘clock!’ He will be deeply missed by his family but will forever be in their thoughts and minds, especially when the call of a chickadee or hum of a hummingbird’s wings is heard.

A celebration of Wilf’s life will occur in the summer of 2021.

If so desired donations may be made in Wilfred's name to; Medicine River Wildlife Centre 4104 twp 360, Spruce View, Alberta T0M 1V0.

Didi, Tony, Chrissy and families:

We are all grieving the loss of a wonderful man. Wilf was my big brother, but because dad was often away for work, he had to be a man before he had the chance to be a boy.

I will never forget all the times he came to my aid by repairing my bike tires, inflating my deflated football, and protecting me and keeping me safe from a winter storm.

Didi, you were the best thing that ever happened to Wilf, you showered him with love and gave him two beautiful children that he adored.

I will miss you big brother. Thank you for the beautiful memories.

Love you lots, Barb

Linda (Dickie) Cardinal:

Condolences to Diane and all of the Reid family...I remember when my parents and I moved into the town of Sylvan Lake and Wilf and Diane bought the acreage that we lived on for a number of years...and the wonderful memories I have of the Reid family, most notably Pat who was my best friend for all of our teenage years. Such a wonderful family. Rest in Peace Wilf.

My condolences Diane and families. Haven't seen you for a while-but I did enjoy our so seldom visits. The pandemic has curtailed visits so hopefully that will soon end and I will be able to see you and give you a hug at least.
Take care and if there is anything I can help with, please don't hesitate to call. 403-887-3113
