David Scott Hudkins passed away Oct 15, 2023 at the age of 49.
Dave was born in Edmonton Alberta on January 17 1974. After only 2 years, the family moved to Yellowknife, NWT and then another jump to Hay River, NWT in 1979. It was there that he found his happy place, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors with his father. While there, Dave joined Cadets, as well as archery. In archery his skill shined, winning awards and national awards and recognition in achievement. In 1989, the family picked up again and moved to Red Deer, Alberta.
Dave had an amazing gift for music, mastering rock music on his guitar. In 1997, Dave married and moved to Valleyview, Alberta. And in 2004 Dave had his first son Ethan, a spitting image of himself. In 2005, Dave had another son Jordan, who received Dave’s gift for music. And in 2009, a daughter arrived for Dave, and she received Dave’s kindness. Dave loved his kids and they were always a constant source of pride that he loved beyond life. During these years he expanded his education, and became a journeyman electrician. Then in 2011, he moved to Fox Creek, Alberta to continue to master his craft. After a few years there, he moved to Sylvan Lake Alberta, and spent his days building models and Lego.
Dave is predeceased by his father Daniel Hudkins, and survived by his children, Ethan Hudkins (Valleyview, AB), Jordan Hudkins (Valleyview, AB) and Paige Hudkins (Valleyview, AB); his mother Valerie Hudkins (Benalto, AB); his brothers, Brian Hudkins (Edmonton AB), Kevin Hudkins (Red Deer, AB) and numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private service to be held by his children, and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made to Diabetes Canada.
