In Memory Of

Charlene Elizabeth Seymour

Sep 10, 1978 - Jan 30, 2021

Our dearest Charlene will always be remembered for her caring demeanor, contagious smile, and kind heart. Her devotion to loved ones and generous ways will always be missed and cherished. The greatest pleasure in Charlene’s life was to watch her children grow, succeed, and become responsible, caring adults. She was proud of who they have become and who they thrive to be.

It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that we are informing you of the passing of Charlene Seymour (nee Burak) on January 30th, 2021, at the age of 42.

Charlene was born on September 10th, 1978 in Bonnyville, Alberta. She is survived by her husband Mark, children, Kayla Burak, Brett Burak, Daneille Seymour, Stepchildren Randy and Celeste Seymour. Also, her proud parents, Nancy and Al Graham, father, Alan Burak, brother Cody Graham and the joy of her life, grandson Liam along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and her furry kid, Myla.

Charlene attended St Patrick Elementery School in Red Deer, Alberta until she relocated to Kamloops, B.C. with her mom, where she proudly accepted her grade 12 diploma. She was successful in following her dream as a Health Care Aide by completing her post-secondary education at the Red Deer College. Charlene and Mark were married in 2002 and began extending their family and following their careers while settling into their family home in Eckville, Alberta.

She treated everyone she came across with no judgement and took great pride in making people feel accepted and wanted. She loved her residents at the Eckville manor from 2007 until her passing. She cared for the residents like they were her own grandparents. Friends, family, and neighbourhood children loved the Seymour household because of the way Charlene welcomed them, made them feel comfortable, and most of all like family.

Being raised in Kamloops, B.C., Charlene loved spending time outdoors. Kayaking, rollerblading and spending time with friends around the campfire brought her peace and joy. Vacationing with her mom and close friends from Kamloops during the summer as an annual highlight and something she always looked forward to.

There was a private service held for Charlene. Memorial donations in Charlene’s name, may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue.

Wanda Pelletier:

Charlene will be missed as part of the HCA team at Eckville Manor House. I recall many times When she came on she would bustle into the office coffee in one hand and Multiple bags in the other. During the summer it was sun dress and flip flops and a quick change to her work clothes before report. She supported me and respected me as a co-worker and this I have appreciated. Charlene, I have enjoyed working and getting to know you.

Brad Lute:

I have fond memories of our childhood together. She was my older cousin and I looked up to her. Though I haven't seen her in many years, it is with a heavy heart that I say good bye to her. Condolences to her close family and all those she has touched along the way.

To all of Chars Family
If only there was a magic wand.
Words don’t seem to be enough. The pain and reality is raw , and it hurts , and no one can feel the exact same thing . But do know that Char; the healthcare aid/coworker ,the mother, the wife, the grandmother, the warrior, the beauty, the trusted friend, was genuine - she was the real thing. She had a spirit or soul or whatever you want to call it ,that was pure ,and tender, and filled with a fierce love . She loved you guys so deeply , so implicitly.

I will so miss her.
I will miss how she would randomly pic up a white hot chocolate and tea from Timmy’s before shift and by taking that first warm sip and seeing that warm smile ,somehow , in that moment , all the stress went away and the day would magically just get brighter.
I will miss how she just new ,intuitively , i needed a hug and would say “come here” and give me that hug that I didn't even know I needed...........she had an amazing sensitivity to her.
She was one of a kind. I will truly miss her.
She will truly Be missed by so many of us.
She was Char ....and she was loved.
Words just aren’t enough
Warm hugs to you all.
