It is with profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of RoseAnn Priscilla Bercier on December 26, 2023. She was surrounded by close family and cherished loved ones as she journeyed peacefully into the spirit world.
RoseAnn will forever be remembered by her devoted children Candace Lane (Joe Kleinsasser), Sabrina Lane and granddaughter Mercedez Kleinsasser.
RoseAnn is lovingly survived by her adopted family: father Lawrence Pitcairn; sisters Laura Pitcairn, Nancy Pitcairn (Bryan); brother Blair Pitcairn; 2 nephews. And her biological family: sisters Lila (Louis Tellier), Corita (Henri Vachon); brothers Randy Bercier, Wayne Tucker, Wilfred Bercier; 22 nieces and nephews.
RoseAnn was predeceased by her adopted mother, Joan Pitcairn. And her biological family: father Laurent Bercier; mother Lucille Benio; stepfather Michael Benio Jr.; sisters Caroline Brideau; Rona McLeod; brother Harland Bercier.
On May 2, 1961, in Roblin, Manitoba, RoseAnn was born the 4th child of 9. At a very early age, her hearing impairment was detected. When she was 6 years old, RoseAnn started school at the Winnipeg School for the Deaf. Joan and Lawrence Pitcairn, who were school teachers working there at the time, lovingly accepted to care for her during her school years. When RoseAnn was about 10 years of age, they legally adopted her. She was blessed to have 2 families who loved her so dearly that they called her their own. When RoseAnn was 15 years old, she moved to Alberta to reunite with her bio family. When she was in her 20's, she became a mom to 2 beautiful daughters, Candace and Sabrina. They were pride and joy! When her granddaughter Mercedez was born, she became the centre of RoseAnn's world. She loved her role as grandma, playing with Mercedez, helping with her day to day care and doing so many fun activities with her granddaughter. RoseAnn also loved animals and totally adored their fur baby family, Trixie and Lalu.
RoseAnn can always be remembered by her beautiful, large, stunning brown eyes, her infectious smile and contagious laugh. She was always up for a practical joke or a play on words in sign language. She enjoyed music, loved to dance up a storm and perform live on stage. Taking part in live amateur music performances gave her such purpose. She proudly shared her language by signing the words of the songs as they were sung and taking time to show the audience how to say a few words in sign language. RoseAnn enjoyed spending time with family, basking in the sun, taking strolls to the park in her scooter, spending time at the lake, as well as going on vacations with her family.
RoseAnn was also a believer. She had a very close relationship with angels, Jesus Christ and our Lord, God, and Creator. In hindsight, we believe that RoseAnn was being summoned home on December 25. So on December 26 at 11:11, we let her go into God’s hands. As she made her final journey home, we asked for a band of angels to surround her and protect her, our ancestors to welcome her and all of them to guide her safely across into the spirit world.
Our final wishes for you, dearest Rose, are eternal peace, that your pain is forever gone and that wherever you are, you are both loved and surrounded with love. We love you and miss you and look forward to the day that we meet again.
The family wishes to extend their warmest appreciation to the ambulance attendants, doctors, nurses, and technical medical staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for the excellent care given to RoseAnn during her short stay.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
