Obituary

Dale passed away quietly, December 27th after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Red Deer, Alberta and grew up south of Hespero, where he lived until his passing.
His love of the outdoors started at an early age spending time at Dad’s camps in the west country. Many afternoons were spent fishing for brookies with Grandpa English and camp cook Hi Sage. Hunting and collecting guns soon followed as a favorite past time of Dale’s and friends were always welcome to sight in a rifle at his range.
He was well known for his sense of humor and wicked ability to tell a tale, just to see if the listener was gullible enough to fall for it. His home and shop were a favorite place for family and friends to stop in and share a story or two.
Dale leaves to mourn his passing: son Clayton (Josephine), granddaughter Alexis, mother Gayle, brother Rod (Judy), sister Diane (Brad) and families.
Dale was predeceased by his father, Ralph and grandparents: Mel and Ivy English, Charles and Mildred Skocdopole.
Dale will be greatly missed by a large extended family and his many, many friends.
Condolences may be forwarded to; www.sylvanlakefuneralhome.ca.
Rocky and Sylvan Lake Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Your Golden Rule Funeral Homes, are entrusted with the arrangements. 403-887-2151.

Julie Layden:

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your Dad. Frank and I, though Frank much more, spent a lot of time with him at the cabin. Trapping/hunting was in thier blood and much enjoyment was shared . Not sure who could outwit the other;Dale a “little” more flamboyant in his descriptions and Frank’s quiet humour. They complimented each other. Many laughs and and great memories. He will be missed.

Sandi (Dial) Manderville :

Thinking of the families and friends in the sad loss of Dale. He was a friend to many, and was always there if need be to help my mom, which she so much appreciated. My brothers Jack, Wes, and Jesse had much respect for Dale and send their condolences to the families. Dale’s passing is very sad to us all. I will miss our conversations about the different subjects we would discuss from time to time; the memories will always be there of a truly genuine friend. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends.
