Obituary

After a long battle with kidney disease, Vivian May Ceccato (Nee Jackson), of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away on the 31st of July 2024, with her family by her side.

Vivian was born to parents Joshua and Margret Jackson on August 22, 1936, in Arlee, Saskatchewan. The family moved to the Evergreen area in 1946, then several years later moved to Calgary. She went on to study as a teacher at the University of Calgary. Vivian married Mario and had two sons, Renny and Rodney. She sold real estate and became a successful realtor in Calgary.

Mario and Vivian bought and sold properties to save money to buy a farm. They moved to a farm in the Evergreen area in 1972 where they raised a large herd of sheep and cattle. Vivian helped a lot of aspiring sheep farmers learn how to manage their flocks. She was one of the local weed inspectors for a few years. In her seventies she moved to Red Deer to be closer to the hospital.

Vivian is survived by her son Renny and wife Shannan, along with their children Joshua and Danielle. She was predeceased by her ex-husband Mario and Son Rod.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 212 in Sylvan Lake, Alberta on August 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM
