Grace Jean Green

Passed away peacefully at Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on May 5th, 2019, after a brief illness. Grace was born October 12th, 1928 in Shepard, Alberta, one of three children to William and Mary Zeliznik. She was predeceased by her husband William, brother William and sister Gladys Ens. She had a caring, enduring soul. She was respected and loved by all who were fortunate to know her. She is survived by her children; Trevor (Brenda) and Karen (Kory), grandchildren; Kari, Jolene, Bill and Josh along with 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grace was a long time Calgary (Ogden) resident. For some 20 years, she was a Comptroller at a prominent Calgary law firm, retiring in 1993. In the 60’s Grace was Treasurer of St. Bernadette Catholic School. . In 2012, she moved into The Eckville Manor, an assisted living facility. She enjoyed living at the Manor where she met numerous new friends and loved the social activities. Playing crib was one of her favorites.
An avid sports enthusiast, she loved the Stampeders and Flames. She religiously followed the Calgary Stampede chuck wagon races and every major curling event. Grace’s ultimate team however was her beloved Blue Jays. If they were on TV she didn’t miss them.
Our mother will be remembered by her friends and family as caring and kindly, loving without judgement. While your long journey has come to an end you will not be forgotten.
